Vancouver Whitecaps’ Camilo Sanvezzo scores brilliant scissor kick equalizer

Vancouver Whitecaps striker Camilo Sanvezzo completed a productive three minute stretch in his side's 2-2 draw against Portland that should prove to be one of MLS's finest this year. Down 1-0 in the 76th minute, Sanvezzo equalized with a free kick that deflected off the wall and found the bottom corner of the net. Just a minute later, Will Johnson was helped by a deflection off a Vancouver defender to put Portland up again and quiet the crowd before they could even finish celebrating the previous goal.

A minute after that, Vancouver's Lee Young-Pyo got off an excellent cross to Sanvezzo, who equalized for the second time in three minutes with an acrobatic scissor kick. The match ended 2-2 because nothing could top that final blow of one-upmanship.

The 25-year-old Brazilian now has 18 goals on the season, putting him joint-second among the league's top scorers, one goal behind leader Marco Di Vaio.
