Blazers’ Nicolas Batum goes to hospital with eye injury

Atlanta Hawks forward Tracy McGrady was trying to stop a pass from Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum Wednesday night and ended up getting his finger into his opponent's eye.

Batum asked to be removed from the game soon after, according CBSSports.com, and "wound up in the hospital."

X-rays there "were negative for an orbital fracture and the team is listing him as day-to-day," CBSports reports. The team takes on the Toronto Raptors in Canada on Friday.

The 23-year-old Batum, a French native who was picked in the first round of the 2008 draft, is averaging 12.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 block per game this season.
