Two athletes banned for doping

The IOC announced two disqualifications for doping. Kim Jong Su, a silver and bronze medalist in shooting from North Korea, and Thi Ngan Thuong Do, a Vietnamese gymnast who took 59th in last night's all-around competition. Kim used propranolol, a drug that has been known to quell tremors. Obviously, this would offer quite an advantage in shooting, but if you have tremors, why are you shooting? Kim has been stripped of his medals. Thuong Do was found to be using Lasix, the diuretic that is often used in horses and can be a masking agent for other drugs. Thuong Do was the first gymnast to compete on behalf of Vietnam, so it's a shame that she tarnished her accomplishment in this way.
