Georgia wins its first gold of the games

Georgia, who is engaged in a military conflict with Russia, won their first gold of the Beijing Olympics in wrestling. Manuchar Kvirkelia, a Greco-Roman wrestler at 74 kg (163 lbs), easily defeating China's Yongxiang Chang in the gold medal match. Georgia briefly considered leaving the games when the conflict began but ultimately decied to stay. Hopefully, Kvirkelia's gold will act as a positive diversion for the Georgian people.
