NHL 3 Stars: Four-point nights for Duchene, Wilson; Hawks’ streak struck

Quality signage in Colorado.

No. 1 Star: Matt Duchene, Colorado Avalanche

Duchene was the difference in the Avalanche's stunning 6-2 thumping of the Chicago Blackhawks, which ended the Hawks' point streak at 24 games. The centre scored the first of four goals the Avs would pot in the second period, and assisted on three others in the game. P.A. Parenteau and Ryan O'Reilly had multi-point nights as well.

No. 2 Star: Colin Wilson, Nashville Predators

Wilson was on fire as the Predators' broke out in a big way versus Edmonton with a 6-0 victory. It was the first four-point night of his career for the Wilson, with two assists in the first period and two goals once the game was fully out of hand in the third. Shea Weber added three assists.

No. 3 Star: Viktor Fasth, Anaheim Ducks

It was a decent outing by the Calgary Flames, but it was a stronger outing by Fasth, who made 29 saves for the second shutout of his NHL career as the Ducks topped the Flames, 4-0. The win was the Ducks' 10th in a row at home.

Honourable mention: Andrew Ladd had a goal and an assist for the Jets... Not that Nashville needed it, but Pekka Rinne picked up a 24-save shutout in the Predators' romp over the Oilers... Jakob Silfverberg's third-period goal stood up as the game-winner in the Ottawa Senators' 3-2 win over the New York Rangers... After playing a team-high 27:26, Dustin Byfuglien scored the overtime winner in the Jets 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers with a nifty toe-drag through the slot:

Did you know? The Blackhawks are 0-1 in their last one.

Dishonourable mention: The Oilers were just dreadful. Minus-3 performances for Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Devan Dubnyk really needs to stop shots from the red line... Calgary wasn't much better, at least on the scoreboard. Rough night for Alberta hockey... Corey Crawford had his worst night of the year, getting pulled after 5 goals on 19 shots, and Dave Bolland finished a minus-3.
