The amazing save kept Belpedio's team alive in a crucial game against Providence.

Defenders play an integral part in almost every single sport and that's no different in ice hockey.

Miami RedHawks defenseman Louie Belpedio put his body on the line to make an incredible save and keep his team alive in their game against Providence.

As the puck approached Miami's empty net with 1:33 remaining in the game, Belpedio dived onto the ground to sensationally knock it away just before it crossed the line.

Belpedio crashed into the boards and was forced to the bench and despite his heroic effort, Miami were not able to complete the comeback from 6-5 down, eventually losing 7-5.
