Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League presented their new “employees” recently: Ticket-sellers wearing nothing but lingerie, fishnet stockings and high heels.

Before you condemn (or celebrate) their new dress code, note that it was just a publicity stunt.

Here's what it looked like. Please note this video may be NSFW and that it features about four and a half minutes of the Benny Hill theme.

“This idea was born spontaneously,” Metallurg’s public relations specialist Anton Chaika told Sovetsky Sport. “We wanted to cheer the fans up before the upcoming home stand. We held auditions for night club dancers and three of them got offers to work in the ticket windows!”

He later added: “Hockey is a man’s sport. What man wouldn’t like to look at a beautiful woman?”

(Ed. Note: Gee, wonder why the Russian women’s national team has never medaled in the Olympics with that sterling, progressive attitude.)

This is not the first time the KHL or its teams have explored this side of marketing.

Most notably, in late 2010 the League teamed up with Playboy asking female fans to submit their pictures with the winner becoming Playmate of the Month for April 2011.
