Joe Corvo signing! Oh, darn, it’s another crummy rerun
Following the bouncing Joe Corvo …
In 2006, he was signed by the Ottawa Senators as a free agent. In 2008, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in the deal that brought to Cory Stillman and Mike Commodore to Ottawa. After a brief time in Washington in 2010, he went back to Carolina as a free agent that summer.
The following summer, he was traded … back to Boston, after the Hurricanes signed Tomas Kaberle. Corvo wasn’t re-signed by the Bruins, so he went … back to Carolina on July 1, 2012.
Alas, that reunion lasted a year, as Corvo wasn’t re-signed in Summer 2013; instead, he signed a one-year deal with … Ottawa, again.

Corvo signed a deal worth $900,000 (per the Ottawa Sun) with the Senators on Monday, as the 36-year-old journeyman seeks to be a sixth or seventh defenseman on the Sens blueline. He’s lost a step, but his shot is still legit. It’s a low-risk signing. And it’s not like the Senators don’t know what they’re getting here, because Joe Corvo has had more reruns than Nick At Nite.
We eagerly await next summer when Corvo leaves for one of the five franchises he’s played for in the NHL. Ha, just kidding, he’s never coming back to Washington.
