Jeremy Roenick rides Dylan Larkin like a horse on NBC (Video)
In the never-ending quest to humanize NHL players and maximize its investment in on-air talent, NBC had a first-intermission segment that featured Dylan Larkin of the Detroit Red Wings and Jeremy Roenick and a green screen and our silent cries for help.
Here’s the 1:15 video that felt about as long as the first period:

Look, this was probably the bees’ knees for someone.
If you wanted insightful discourse about Larkin’s rookie season or the Calder race or really anything that didn’t involve the last people to make a “Hotline Bling” joke … well, that’s all very NBCSN. This is NBC, where the hockey talk is pitched to the most general of general audiences, despite the fact that your audience is made up of the kind of hockey fans that would be watching the Red Wings and the Boston Bruins on Valentine’s Day afternoon. So, like, the hardcores.
But why pitch your coverage to that audience when you can have sub-NHL Awards buffoonery instead?
And before anyone asks; yes, yes I did.

Here, cleanse thyself with an actual funny Larkin video.
