Connor McDavid already has his own rap anthem, via Raspy Balboa (Audio)

Connor McDavid has mountains of hype, the rookie scoring lead and the promise of being the next great NHL superstar. And now, less than a month into his freshman season, he has something every hockey star aspires to have:

His own hip-hop anthem!

Canadian rapper Raspy Balboa (mortal enemy of ApoFlow Creed) has dropped “Connor McDavid (Welcome to the NHL)” on an unsuspecting public, as the Edmonton Oilers phenom is celebrated over phat beats.

Sample prose:

Who give me dat pass?/

Connor McDavid!/

Who light up the net?/

Connor McDavid!/

Who skate like a champ?/

Connor McDavid!

Our favorite lyric: “Not only does he score, but do the man backcheck?” We can’t count how many times we’ve been listening to mix tapes and Spotify playlists and our Snow CD and wondered how much better the flow could be with a quality reference to back-checking.
