Virginia Tech introduces a new camouflage helmet for Military Appreciation

For those who thought Virginia Tech’s helmet experience were going to be limited to one year, think again.

BeamerBall.com posted pictures of a new orange camouflage helmet the team plans to wear for its Military Appreciation game against Marshall on Sept. 21.

The helmet will be paired with a special white uniform.

If memory serves, Virginia Tech wore four different alternate helmets last season – a green camo, one with turkey feet (see above), one with a fighting turkey, and a turkey silhouette for the Russell Athletic Bowl against Rutgers.

It’s important to note that Virginia Tech won each time it wore an alternate helmet and that’s kinda impressive considering the Hokies only won seven games last season.

I’m a fan of digitized camo, but not sure how I feel about it in orange. I guess I’ll have to see it with the special white uniforms to get a more complete picture.

Now we wait to see what other turkey-themed helmets Virginia Tech puts out this season.

What do you think about the orange camo?
