Southern Miss teases new helmet design (Photo)
One of the more entertaining parts of the offseason is the unveiling of different uniform combinations and helmet designs.
On Friday, Southern Miss’ equipment department tweeted out a new helmet concept that includes chrome decals, stopping just short of joinging the chrome helmet craze we've seen the past couple seasons.

Of course the first logical question is whether these helmets might help the Golden Eagles win more than one game?
Southern Miss has gone 1-23 – and had two different coaches -- in the past two seasons since coach Larry Fedora left to become the head coach at North Carolina. During Fedora's final year with the Golden Eagles, they were 12-2, won the Conference USA title and the Hawaii Bowl.
It is worth noting that Southern Miss did have various alternative uniforms and helmets last season.
