The Jeffery Simmons situation appears to be nearing a resolution.
The status of Simmons, a five-star Mississippi State signee, has been up in the air since he was arrested in March for assault. Video showed Simmons striking a woman, and Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen hasn't said much about the ordeal.
Multiple reporters indicated Tuesday that the school will make some sort of public determination about Simmons this week. Simmons is reportedly enrolled at MSU.

Michigan quarterback Alex Malzone appeared in court Tuesday on two charges: altering a driver’s license and disorderly conduct. The redshirt freshman is not expected to play a role in the Wolverines’ upcoming starting quarterback battle.

Florida head coach Jim McElwain didn’t have much to say about the status of Antonio Callaway, who led the Gators with 678 receiving yards last season. The sophomore wide receiver was suspended earlier this year.
