Multiple reports emerged Monday documenting a behind the scenes effort from several powerful Baylor alums pushing to bring back Art Briles as BU’s head coach in 2017. On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal identified several of the alums involved, including Jim Turner, the former chairman of Dr. Pepper Bottling Co., and Drayton McLane, the former owner of the Houston Astros.

Baylor's football stadium, McLane Stadium, is named after McLane, who provided a significant gift to fund the stadium's construction.

Like it did with Penn State last year, Axalta Racing has partnered another Big Ten University – Michigan – for a car in an upcoming NASCAR race. This time, it’s Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 car for the Michigan 400 in August at Michigan International Speedway.

DeQuinton Osborne, a former 2016 Baylor signee, has verbally committed to Oklahoma State. Osborne, a junior college defensive tackle, recently received his release from Baylor.

Michigan State’s Board of Trustees will vote Wednesday whether or not to install permanent lighting at Spartan Stadium. The school has long rented lights for late-afternoon and night games.
