Ole Miss lineman Austin Golson transfers and will walk-on at Auburn
Transfers are everyday events in the world of college football, but it is not every day that a player transfers to another school in the same conference. Austin Golson is an exception.
It was announced Monday that Golson, a sophomore offensive tackle, will transfer from Ole Miss and walk-on at Auburn.
Austin Golson has decided to move closer to his family and is choosing to walk on at Auburn, following normal NCAA transfer rules.

Golson, a four-star member of Ole Miss’ 2013 recruiting class who was the No. 118 rated player in the nation, told the Clarion-Ledger last month that he sought a transfer to be closer to his home in Prattville, Ala. to be closer to his sick grandparents.
Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman is reporting that Golson, who appeared in 12 games as a true freshman for the Rebels at right guard last season, will use 2014 as his redshirt season, and then will be eligible to play for Auburn in 2015 as a redshirt sophomore.
Austin Golson played #RG as true FR for #OleMiss. He'll use his RS season, pay his way as walk-on in 2014 & be eligible in 2015 at #Auburn.

Per the Ledger, Golson was at the top of the Rebels’ depth chart at right tackle in the spring before deciding to transfer. Junior College signee Fahn Cooper is now the expected starter for the Rebels at right tackle.
