Oklahoma DC Mike Stoops thinks Johnny Manziel should ‘keep out of jail’ and ‘off Twitter’ if he wants to win another Heisman

A week after Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M embarrassed Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, Sooners defensive coordinator had some backhanded compliments for the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback.

Thanks to John Hoover of the Tulsa World for sharing the quotes on Twitter:

So, to what is Stoops alluding?

Manziel had a run-in with the law last June for fighting outside of a bar and carrying a couple fake IDs. He had a brief – very brief – stint in jail before he was released. This was prior to Texas A&M’s fall camp and before he was named the Aggies starting quarterback.

And, since he’s become a rockstar Heisman Trophy winner, he’s had a knack for posting “controversial” photos on Instagram and Twitter, including him in the Houston Rockets locker room and him flashing a fan of money while at a casino in Oklahoma. Nothing the NCAA would really care about, but the photos got some folks in a bit of a huff – including Stoops apparently.

Look, Stoops might have thought he was being funny, but he comes off as a jackass – a jackass whom Manziel lit up for 516 total yards and four touchdowns.
