North Carolina home belonging to former Texas coach Mack Brown destroyed in fire
The North Carolina home of former Texas coach Mack Brown was destroyed in a fire last week.
“All that was left were two chimneys standing,” Brown told the Austin American Statesman.
Brown had recently moved several memorabilia items from his home in Austin to North Carolina and all of it was lost.
Thx for your thoughts and prayers about the loss of our house. Tough deal, but thanks. Blessed everyone is fine and we are moving forward.

Brown didn’t share many details on the fire and was unsure how it started.
We’re sure Mack had collected some great stuff during his many coaching stops, including his 15 years as the head coach of the Longhorns. Sad to hear that much of it was lost.
