Missouri took two hits to its secondary depth on Tuesday.

Team spokesman Chad Moller confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that senior cornerback David Johnson and redshirt junior safety Chaston Ward have both left the program to pursue transfers.

Johnson appeared in 19 games as a reserve over the past two seasons and was again expected to come off the bench in 2015. He didn’t play in his first two seasons on campus, including the redshirt year he took in 2011. A native of Spring, Texas, Johnson tallied eight total tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble during his time at Missouri.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Johnson graduated earlier this summer, so he would be able to play immediately if he were to transfer to another FBS program.

Ward, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety from Cleburne, Texas, played in 20 games for the Tigers over the past two seasons after redshirting his first year on campus. He registered five tackles in 2014. According to the Post-Dispatch, he was listed as the team’s second-string strong safety entering spring practice, but fell to the third string once senior Cortland Browning returned from an injury.

Ward is on track to graduate after the current summer session and could potentially be immediately eligible to play for another FBS team in 2015.
