LSU's Malachi Dupre and Brandon Harris help woman and son in floodwaters

LSU wide receiver Malachi Dupre and quarterback Brandon Harris helped a woman and her diabetic son whose car was trapped in floodwaters near Tiger Stadium on Sunday.

The Tigers' win over Western Kentucky on Saturday night acme in the remnants of Hurricane Patricia. The rain from the storm system pelted the region over the weekend and caused flash flooding. The woman drove her car into water and while she and her son were able to get out after the car was stuck, they didn't take the boy's insulin with them when they scrambled out of the car.

That's where Dupre and Harris come in. They went into the water and retrieved the son's insulin from the car per LSU officials.

From WWLTV.com:

"I'm told that two of our guys during that monsoon that we had stepped in and helped a stranded motorist and her child," Miles said to reporters after practice Tuesday night. "Basically they went into a car that had insulin in it for a diabetic son, went under water and got it. That was Brandon Harris and Malachi Dupre doing good things on their own without direction."

Harris and Dupre called an audible.

"In fact, I would've probably told them to stay out of the water," Miles said. "But truth of the matter is that they knew better. Great that everybody's healthy, and it was a great move. But you know what, there's a lot of real quality people on this team. It's a football team brought together to get an education and play championship football, but there's a lot of stories like that go untold that are pretty special."
