Dr. Saturday's College Football Madness: Round One, Region 2
Welcome to Dr. Saturday's College Football Madness. Ever wondered how the 2013 college football season could have turned out with a 68-team playoff? You've come to the right spot. While 68 teams participate in the NCAA tournament, we're running an expanded college football playoff. And you're in charge. Each matchup is open to a vote and the team with the most votes in each game moves on to the next round. Time for Region 2.
Will Auburn get a lot of last-second help in our College Football Madness tournament? Let's find out. Voting for Region 2 ends at Noon ET on Monday, March 24. If you haven't voted on Region 1, you can do so here. For Region 3, click here. And click here for the bracket.
No. 1 Auburn vs. No. 16 Eastern Washington
If nothing else, this game could be a mini-version of the SEC Championship Game. Lots and lots of offense.
No. 8 Washington vs. No. 9 Marshall
Is Washington underseeded in this bracket? Entirely possible.
No. 5 WIsconsin vs. No. 12 Ball State
We're looking ahead, but a Wisconsin/Auburn Sweet 16 matchup would be fun, wouldn't it?
No. 4 UCF vs. No. 13 North Texas
However, Central Florida may have something to say about it. Unless North Texas pulls a first round upset.
No. 6 Northern Illinois vs. No. 11 BYU
If this game was played after the MAC Championship, would BYU be the betting favorite in Las Vegas?
No. 3 South Carolina vs. No. 14 Oregon State
The Beavers may be a bit underseeded too, but South Carolina is a very tough matchup.
No. 7 USC vs. No. 10 East Carolina
Which USC is going to show up? The one that beat Stanford or the one that lost to UCLA?
No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 15 Syracuse
This looks like it could be tough for Ohio State until you realize how Syracuse did against good competition in 2013.
