Not only is Baylor officially opening a new stadium Sunday night, it also unveiled a statue of Robert Griffin III.

The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner was at the dedication for his new statue, which was shown off a few hours before Baylor kicked off against SMU.

Griffin and coach Art Briles helped usher in an era of unprecedented passing success at Baylor. And depending on how the 2014 season goes, there may be another QB statue next to Griffin's. Bryce Petty threw for 4,200 yards, 32 touchdowns and three interceptions in 2013. Another repeat performance – minus another Baylor disaster against Oklahoma State – and Petty could be a contender for the Heisman Trophy.
