Bo Wallace won’t play at Notre Dame after all.

Wallace, a three-star outside linebacker from the New Orleans area, signed a national letter of intent with the Fighting Irish, but announced last week that he parted ways with the program. On Friday, Arizona State announced that Wallace signed a Grant-In-Aid form to play for the Sun Devils.

Wallace, the 26th-best outside linebacker in the country, originally committed to Notre Dame last October and signed to join the Irish on national signing day. However, Wallace told BlueandGold.com that his separation from Notre Dame was a mutual decision between the two sides.

“Sometimes things just don’t work out,” Wallace said. “I cant really say what all happened, but some stuff fell into place and it was a decision between (Notre Dame) and my household that it just wasn’t going to be a fit for me.”

After Wallace was thrust back into the recruiting world, he made his decision to play for the Sun Devils quickly. On its website, Arizona State described the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Wallace as a “lightning-quick edge-rusher with a nose for the quarterback that could fit well into ASU’s Devilbacker scheme.”

Wallace had 52 tackles as a high school senior with 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
