One thing to know: Refs, not teams, control game tempo

Chip Kelly’s fast-tempo offense hasn’t hit the playing field yet and it’s already threatening league officials. In an item to The Wall Street Journal, the NFL vice president of officiating has said teams don’t control the tempo of a game, but rather the officials do. Mike Florio wonders if Kelly will play by the rules, or if tension will grow between the coach, his players and the league.
