Kirk Cousins to start this week for Redskins

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is reporting that Mike Shanahan is leaning towards having Kirk Cousins start at quarterback against the Falcons on Sunday but that Robert Griffin III still has a chance to make his case:

"Thinking inside Redskins building today is that Shanahan is going w Cousins unless RG3 is able to convince him otherwise . . . Ppl inside building are under impression Shanahan is making move at QB to Cousins. If he changes back it's bc RG3 convinced him otherwise."

According to Shanahan, Griffin is "100 percent" healthy. In his two years with the team he has started every game with the exception of one last year when he was injured. Shanahan said on Monday that he was considering benching Griffin to keep him healthy after the team allowed 25 sacks in the last five games.

ESPN's Redskins reporter John Keim has confirmed the report: "Team source confirms NFL AM report that Kirk Cousins will start for the #Redskins against Atlanta Sunday."
