Video: Danilo Gallinari fires the fastest behind-the-back pass we’ve seen in a while

Denver forward Danilo Gallinari was traded to the Nuggets last year in a package that sent Carmelo Anthony to New York, but let's not pretend that Danilo is some sort of free-wheeling, European-styled pass demon; dishing and swishing while Anthony stops the ball. Danilo's assist ratio (the amount of possessions he uses up that turn into assists) for his career is just over 8 percent (though 12 percent this year), while Anthony's is twice that (and almost 22 percent this year).

But holy lord, what a sweet dish Gallo sent Kenneth Faried on Saturday night:

The assist came in the midst of a breakout game of sorts for Faried. All year, his per-minute stats have outshone even that of Cleveland's Kyrie Irving, the clear Rookie of the Year. But Denver's crowded frontcourt and Faried's foul troubles have gotten in the way of him earning major minutes. That's going to change, with former starting center Nene traded to Washington, and Faried is going to have more opportunities to fill out the stat sheet as he did in the Nuggets' win with 18 points (on 5-5 shooting), 16 rebounds and a block in just 23 minutes.
