Urijah Faber scores submission win at UFC 175

Urijah Faber got back on the horse quickly after losing a bantamweight title bout to Renan Barão last February, choosing to take on Alex Caceres on the UFC 175 undercard Saturday night in Las Vegas. That risk paid off big for "The California Kid" when he snatched a submission win in the third round.

Faber closed the distance and took Caceres down quickly in the first round but "Bruce Leeroy" survived the ground striking onslaught from the former world champion and found his range in the second round. Caceres landed a nasty punch combination on Faber in the second and managed to defend Faber's take down attempts much more effectively.

Faber came out charging once more in the final round, however, caught a kick attempt from Caceres and knocked him backwards and down with punches. From there, Caceres made the mistake of turning his back slightly.

Faber, a choke expert, jumped at the opportunity and sunk a rear naked choke in and forced the tap out. Caceres' loss was his first in six bouts.
