Roop knocks out the 'Korean Zombie' at WEC 51
George Roop became the first fighter to knock out Chan-Sung "The Korean Zombie" Jung at WEC 51 in Broomfield, Colo. on Thursday night.
In the first round, Jung showed how he earned his nickname, moving forward like a zombie for the entire round. He didn't stop, no matter what the much taller Roop threw at him. Roop was able to close the distance and land strikes, but Jung used that as an opportunity to counter.
Jung seemed to come alive in the second, throwing more punches than he had in the first. But it didn't matter. Roop landed a perfect left kick onto Jung's chin, knocking him out cold at 1:30.
