Teams in Minor League Baseball are always dreaming up wacky promotions, but not many of them pay out in the long term for fans like what the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs are offering. The Chiefs, an affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are offering free tickets for life to anyone who gets the team's logo tattooed on their body.
This specifically is being offered on July 1, the team's Tattoo Night. Here's how the Chiefs are explaining the promo:
Carmelo's Ink City will be in the building for a special offer - get a Chiefs' tattoo and you'll get a general admission ticket for life!! It's Tattoo Appreciation Night, so take advantage of this "colorful" offer!
The team said on its Facebook page that the logo tattoos would be free, which also ups the ante on the offer. The team's logo — a locomotive coming out of a C — is pretty nice and seems like it would make for a decent tattoo. It's not a weird-looking mascot you'd have to explain all the time if you etched it on your body permanently.
The team doesn't make it clear whether the tattoo has to be in a certain area or a certain size, though those requirements could obviously be a determining factor for some folks seduced by the idea of ink and minor-league baseball tickets. It'll sure be interesting to see how many fans decide to do it.
Since some people, even today in 2014, think tattoos are taboo, the Chiefs have another promo scheduled that every American should get behind — Deport Justin Bieber Night on April 4.
