Uncommitted four-star football recruit bench presses 515 pounds three times for the camera

Olathe (Kan.) South High senior Braden Smith may be ranked 50th on Rivals.com's final Class of 2014 football recruit rankings, but the four-star offensive guard can rest easy knowing he can pretty much bench press two of everyone listed above him.

That's right. Olathe South football coach Jeff Gourley posted a YouTube video (h/t MaxPreps) of Smith bench pressing 515 pounds. Thrice. The look on the face of the redheaded kid -- one of three spotters for Smith -- pretty much sums up my reaction.

Here are a few things that weigh 500 pounds: a grizzly bear, a dumpster and a piano. Imaginary being an opponent knowing Smith can literally place a dumpster next to your mascot, put said mascot in said dumpster and drop a piano on top of it.

At 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds, the still undecided Smith has been targeted by most major Division I football programs and has reportedly whittled his list down to TCU, Auburn and Texas A&M leading up to his National Signing Day decision on Feb. 5. Playing both ways for Olathe South this past fall, he totaled 82 pancake blocks and 59 tackles.

Braden's sister, Megan Smith, finished fourth in the shot and fifth in the disc as a junior at the 2013 Big 12 Championships as a member of the TCU women's track and field this past spring. I'm just going to assume she can probably bench press more than me, too.
