Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn may have mutually agreed to part ways, but the breakup has hardly been easy on the pro-golfer.

Woods, 39, talked to reporters Tuesday ahead of this week's Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida and admitted to not being in the best place mentally.

"Obviously, it does affect me. It is tough. There's no doubt. I'm not going to lie about that. It is tough," an emotional Woods responded when asked if his personal life affected his game out on the course.

The 30-year-old ski racer and Woods announced on May 3 that they were ending their relationship after three years together. Sunday also happened to be the ninth anniversary of the death of Tiger's father, Earl, who was his best friend and mentor.

"This three-day window is really hard," Woods added. "I haven't slept. These three days, May 3 through the 5th, is just brutal on me. And then with obviously what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it."

This past weekend Woods revealed on his website he and Lindsey "mutually decided to stop dating."

"I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family," he wrote.

Vonn's statement was similar: "After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."

Tiger and Lindsey made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in 2013. Lets hope the couples that did the same this year have better luck.
