York-Adams baseball coaches announce 2023 players and pitchers of the year, all-stars
YAIAA baseball coaches announced their division players and pitchers of the year and all-stars.
AJ Lipscomb led Red Lion with a .478 hitting percentage and .536 on-base percentage. The junior knocked in 30 runs and accumulated nine doubles and two triples among his 33 hits.
When not playing first base (.885 fielding percentage), Lipscomb went 3-0 on the mound with a 2.47 ERA. He struck out 45, walked 13 and gave up 27 hits.
Red Lion senior Jason Krieger was named the Division I Pitcher of the Year, finishing with a 3-2 record and a 2.86 ERA. He led the Lions with 49 innings pitched, striking out 60 against 19 walks and gave up 48 hits.
He had a .413 batting average, hitting two doubles, two triples and one homer and driving in 19 runs on 26 hits.
Susquehannock senior Josh Preston was named the Division II Player of the Year, leading the Warriors with a .507 batting average. He finished with 35 hits, including eight doubles, three triples and two home runs. He knocked in 18 runs.
The infielder had 52 put outs in 68 chances with two double plays and five errors.
Susquehannock’s Joe Smith led the Warriors with an 8-1 record after pitching 55.1. The senior was named Division II Pitcher of the Year, finishing with 73 strikeouts against 15 walks.
He gave up 28 hits and four earned runs for a .051 ERA.
Kennard-Dale's Koy Swanson hit .484 with 31 hits, six home runs and 23 RBIs. The senior played first base when he wasn't pitching and was named the Division III Player of the Year.
Swanson struck out 36 against 16 walks in 14.1 innings of work. He allowed five hits and finished with a 3-0 record.
Bermudian Springs teammates Gabe Kline and Nate Keller shared the Division III Pitcher of the Year honors.
Kline, a junior, rode a 1.12 ERA into a 4-0 record in 31 innings. Keller, a sophomore, worked 42.2 innings, striking out 57 and finishing with a 2.13 ERA.

Hanover’s Chase Roberts led the Nighthawks to the PIAA quarterfinals with a .524 batting average. He drove in 22 runs and had eight doubles in his 33 hits to be named the Division IV Player of the Year.
The senior recorded 37 putouts in 51 attempts at first and third base and had seven errors. As a pitcher, he had a 3.15 ERA in 40 innings. He gave up 41 hits and 18 earned runs and had 35 strikeouts against eight walks.
Roberts’ teammate Justus Feeser led Hanover with a 2.26 ERA in 68 innings of work. He gave up 22 earned runs and struck out 58 against 14 walks.
