Yellow Jackets take down Bulldogs on the golf course

Mar. 22—THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central and Thomasville met on the golf course on Tuesday and it was the Yellow Jackets who emerged victorious. The Central boys won 169-175 and the Yellow Jacket girls won with a score of 167-183.

Senior Harrison Johnson was the low man of the day for the Yellow Jackets, shooting a team low 36.

"He (Johnson) carried us as we didn't get our typical scores to help him out," said Central golf coach Kevin Esch. "But that's what we need from our senior leader."

The girls were forced to face the Bulldogs without their best player but, according to Esch, "the rest of the team stepped up".

Tenth grader Kenley Brinson led the way for the Lady Jackets, shooting a 53 on the day.
