YAIAA basketball teams take advantage of break to host, play in holiday tournaments
High school basketball fans will be getting some late Christmas gifts to close out 2023.
Many area high school boys' and girls' teams are hosting or playing in holiday tournaments, some with pretty high-powered matchups.
York Suburban girls bring their undefeated record and No. 1 District 3 Class 5A power ranking into a first-round game of their own tournament against Greencastle-Antrim. The game is a rematch of last year's district final, which G-A won 44-30.
Central York boys will play Wilson in the first round of the Hempfield Holiday Tournament in a matchup of one-loss Class 6A teams.
York Catholic is hosting a boys' tournament that features Delone Catholic and York Suburban, both among the top teams in their District 3 classifications.

Semifinals will be played the first day and consolations/finals to follow at the same times on the second day unless noted. Host school is listed if it's not part of the tournament name.
