Dec. 4—ROCHESTER — X-Golf, an international indoor golf simulator brand, is ready to tee off in north Rochester on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

X-Golf Rochester

will open its doors at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the

Maplewood Shopping Center

at 3906 U.S. Highway 52 North. That's the space that previously housed the for-profit National American University from 2012 to 2019.

The sports simulator venue serves a full bar food menu as well as mixed drinks and beer. Using its simulators, X-Golf offers solo or team golfing sessions, virtual golf league play and golf lessons.

Lynn Peterson, a local golf pro, is serving as X-Golf Rochester's general manager.

"We are really looking forward to providing a space for people to enjoy golf year-round. It's a great opportunity to stay in shape during the off-season or get started on learning the game," stated Peterson in the announcement of the Rochester location's opening. "You can join a league, play in a nationwide tournament, take lessons, hit the driving range, or play a round with your friends or family while enjoying great food and drinks."

X-Golf began developing simulators in Korea in 2005. It launched its American franchise operations in 2016. By 2020, it had 25 North American locations and that number doubled in 2021.

X-Golf Rochester is X-Golf's eighth location in Minnesota. This is the first in this part of the state.

In Rochester, it faces competition from two local businesses.
