How do divisionals work?

Weigh-ins at each site are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. First-round action is set to begin shortly after that 8:45 a.m.

Finals are tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m., but may be adjusted depending on how each round is moving at each site.

At every divisional tournament, the top four place-finishers in each weight class qualify for the Section 1 Division I championships, which are scheduled for Feb. 10-11.

After the end of Saturday's qualifier tournaments, we will know which 16 wrestlers in each weight class will have an opportunity to compete for a section title next week. Wrestlers who qualify will be seeded from 1-16 and sectional seeds will be released in the days leading up to the Section 1 championships.

What about Division II wrestling?

Since there aren't as many schools or wrestlers compared to Division I (large-school), sectional qualifiers don't apply to the Division II (small-school) level. Wrestlers will continue to drill and finalize their preparations for the Section 1 Division II championships. The one-day tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10.
