Wrestling: Fan information, tickets, FAQs for 2024 Section 1 divisional tournaments
The 2024 Section 1 wrestling postseason officially begins with Saturday's Division I sectional qualifier tournaments.
This year, Clarkstown South, Suffern, Tappan Zee and Horace Greeley are set to host divisionals.
Here's some info for the upcoming divisionals:
How do divisionals work?
Weigh-ins at each site are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. First-round action is set to begin shortly after that 8:45 a.m.
Finals are tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m., but may be adjusted depending on how each round is moving at each site.
At every divisional tournament, the top four place-finishers in each weight class qualify for the Section 1 Division I championships, which are scheduled for Feb. 10-11.
After the end of Saturday's qualifier tournaments, we will know which 16 wrestlers in each weight class will have an opportunity to compete for a section title next week. Wrestlers who qualify will be seeded from 1-16 and sectional seeds will be released in the days leading up to the Section 1 championships.
Tickets
According to Section 1, it is an online, all-digital ticketed event. No cash sales will be available at any of the four divisional sites. Tickets must be purchased online and presented on your mobile phone at the gate.
Tickets cost $5 each. According to the GoFan ticket platform, there is also a $1.25 service fee for each ticket sold.
Tickets can be bought by going to http://www.gofan.co and searching for "NYSPHSAA - Section I" on the frontpage, which will bring up a directory of Section 1 events.

What about Division II wrestling?
Since there aren't as many schools or wrestlers compared to Division I (large-school), sectional qualifiers don't apply to the Division II (small-school) level. Wrestlers will continue to drill and finalize their preparations for the Section 1 Division II championships. The one-day tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10.
