Kobbie Mainoo the hero of astonishing finish to Manchester United's 4-3 win at Wolves

Manchester United shook off their away blues when they held off feisty Wolves to win 4-3 at the Molineux on Thursday.

The Red Devils held 2-0 and 3-1 leads when Pedro Neto leveled the game at 3 in stoppage time, but Kobbie Mainoo scored a sensational winner moments later to secure the win for Erik ten Hag.

Rasmus Hojlund had a goal and an assist, and Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay also scored as United threw it away and took it right back.

The Red Devils had taken just one point from the last 12 available to them away from Old Trafford, but secured all three points and sit seventh on the Premier League table with 35 points.

Wolves see the end of a four-match unbeaten Premier League run despite a penalty goal from Pablo Sarabia and a poacher's goal from Max Kilman. Wolves remain 11th with 29 points.

Red Devils keep their tails up despite errors

On another day, Manchester United's 2-0 lead is 3 or even 4-nil before Wolves get on the board, as Erik ten Hag's men came flying out of the traps. United instead showed its resolve by attacking continuously over 90 minutes at the Molineux.

Marcus Rashford responded to a controversial off-field week by smashing home the opener off a Rasmus Hojlund feed, and the Danish striker than scrambled home a goal of his own to become the youngest Man United player to register a goal and an assist in back-to-back outings (take that, Cristiano Ronaldo).

But United couldn't beat Jose Sa another time and that meant Casemiro's conceded penalty — barely able to withstand VAR review — put the game back in the balance.

Even though the Wolves would answer United's third goal, the Red Devils never really took their foot off the gas and spent much of stoppage time in the Wolves third despite defensive-minded subs to bring on Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans.

Yet those backs were in the Wolves box for a corner and Neto capped off a vicious counter by beating Andre Onana to level the score at 3 in the sixth minute of stoppage time. No worry, said Kobbie Mainoo, dribbling out of a traffic to curl a beauty home in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Both teams have 9am ET Sunday kickoffs, with Wolves off to Chelsea and Manchester United hosting West Ham.

Pedro Neto wins a late penalty and a long VAR review cannot say that Casemiro did not clip the Wolves star.

Pablo Sarabia, pretty fresh into the game, beats Andre Onana centrally to make it 2-1.

It's a big switch from Alejandro Garnacho, and Marcus Rashford takes the ball down and starts a move on the left.

Luke Shaw has surged into the 18 and chopped a pass toward the six, the ball taking one or two redirections before Rasmus Hojlund's slide gets it over the line for 2-0.

Marcus Rashford was in the headlines for the wrong reasons after going out on the town last week, but he's inspired partying from the away section here.

Rasmus Hojlund holds the ball up inside the top of the 18 and lays off for Rashford, who lets loose with a wicked strike that beat Jose Sa through traffic.
