Here are WNC Week 7 top performers, led by pair of Hendersonville double-doubles

Here are the WNC athletes who have had big performances this week in winter sports.

Boys basketball

Max McClure, Franklin: McClure recorded a 42-point, 16-rebound double-double to lead Franklin past Polk County (Tenn.) 83-59.

Friday

Boys basketball

Zeke Garris, Asheville High: The junior's 23 points and six rebounds lifted Asheville to a 67-62 win over Cherokee.

Eli Griffin, Brevard: Griffin's 20 points led the Blue Devils to a 64-42 win over Robbinsville.

Carson Wallace, Erwin: Wallace recorded 27 points and 10 rebounds in three quarters of play. Erwin lost to Pisgah, 93-72.

Max McClure, Franklin: McClure recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in Franklin's 78-42 win over Coosa (Ga.).

Rylan Parkins, McDowell: Parkins scored 24 points in McDowell's 66-58 win over Patton.

Jace Loven, Mountain Heritage: Loven's 31-point, eight-rebound effort led the Cougars to a 59-54 win against Polk County.

Girls basketball

Caroline Hollifield, Avery County: Hollifield recorded 22 points to lead the Vikings past Patton, 64-23.

Mallory Peck, Hayesville: Peck scored 15 points, providing nearly half Hayesville's scoring in a 31-17 win over Polk County (Tenn.).

Claire Barlow, Robbinsville: Barlow scored 19 points in a 65-58 win over Brevard.

Alissa Cheek, Rosman: Cheek scored 17 points, leading the Tigers in a 57-43 win over Erwin.

Thursday

Boys basketball

Cam Rattler, Andrews: Rattler totaled 21 points with 13 rebounds, a double-double effort, in a 56-46 win over Madison at the Maroon Devil Christmas Classic.

Tre Crite, Brevard: Crite had a double-double, recording 21 points and 12 rebounds. Brevard beat Smoky Mountain 58-55.

Carson Wallace, Erwin: Wallace dropped 47 points in an 88-69 win over Australian National, adding 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Max McClure, Franklin: McClure's 27-point, 10-rebound effort fell just short in Franklin's 70-66 loss to Union County (Ga.).

Malachi Simpson, Hendersonville: Simpson recorded a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the Bearcats' 87-61 win over Burns.

CJ Landrum, Hendersonville: Landrum tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds to add another double-double.

Eli Elliot, McDowell: Elliot scored 17 points to lead McDowell past Avery County, 71-35.

Jace Loven, Mountain Heritage: Loven scored 27 points with nine boards in a 65-55 loss to R-S Central.

Bryce Adams, Robbinsville: Adams recorded 22 points, seven rebounds and six steals in the Black Knights' 63-60 win over Veritas Christian Academy.

Dane Knott, Robbinsville: Knott scored 14 points, including a game-winning 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds to go.

Girls basketball

Sara Larios, Asheville Christian Academy: Larios made seven 3-pointers and scored 35 points in ACA's 59-48 win over the Australian All Stars.

Alissa Cheek, Rosman: Cheeks scored 18 points, but Rosman fell to Mount Tabor, 69-60.

Lexi Powell, Rosman: The junior scored 17 points, crossing 1,000 points for her career.

Anna Maher, Smoky Mountain: Maher scored 17 points with 13 rebounds in a 53-42 victory vs. Brevard.

Wednesday

Boys basketball

Cam Rattler, Andrews: The Wildcats took down North Buncombe 81-73 behind Rattler's 30 points.

Ty Clark, Andrews: Clark added 18 points in the Wildcats' win.

Aris Joyner, Asheville High: Joyner's 20 points were a team high as the Cougars took down Dawson-Bryant (Ohio), 78-55.

Tre Crite, Brevard: Crite recorded a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double in a 59-56 win over Veritas Christian Academy.

Zymicah Wilkins, Christ School: Wilkins scored 21 points with seven rebounds to push Christ School past Word of God Christian Academy, 60-55.

Wyatt Taylor, East Henderson: Taylor tallied 18 points and seven rebounds as East Henderson won 61-35 over Pickens (S.C.).

Caiden Brewer, East Henderson: Brewer scored 18 points with six assists in the Eagles' win.

Malachi Simpson, Hendersonville: The junior recorded a double-double, scoring 27 points with 12 boards in a 76-65 victory vs. Chesnee (S.C.).

CJ Landrum, Hendersonville: Landrum also tallied a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds.

Bryce Adams, Robbinsville: Despite Adams' 20 points and 14 rebounds, the Black Knights fell 51-48 against Smoky Mountain.

Lane Wike, Smoky Mountain: Wike scored 17 points in a 51-48 win over Robbinsville, handing the Black Knights their first lost of the season.

Ben Brown, Smoky Mountain: Brown tallied 16 points in the Mustangs' victory.

Girls basketball

Sara Larios, Asheville Christian Academy: Larios scored 17 points with six steals, but ACA fell 46-35 to Erwin.

Ellie Martin, Owen: Martin's 19 points guided the Warhorses to a 36-35 defeat of East Henderson.

Suri Watty, Robbinsville: Watty recorded 23 points to lead the Black Knights past Smoky Mountain, 62-56.
