Wisconsin Badgers men open against Virginia in the Fort Myers Tip-Off

MADISON -- Wisconsin coach Greg Gard should see a familiar face on the opposing bench when the Badgers open the 2023 Fort Myers Tip-Off on Nov. 20:

Virginia coach Tony Bennett.

UW and Virginia are set to meet at 5 p.m. (Central) in the opener at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. West Virginia and SMU meet in the second game.

The third-place game is set for 5 p.m. (Central) on Nov. 22, with the title game to follow.

All games are to be televised by FS1.

The pairings were announced Friday.

Virginia has won the last two meetings with UW and holds a 4-2 overall record in the series.

The Cavaliers handed UW a 49-37 defeat in Charlottesville in the 2017-18 season and defeated UW, 53-46, in the title game of the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis.
