Word around the league is the Celtics are ready to offer a whopping $295 million supermax contract extension to their superstar forward, but the deal hasn’t materialize for reasons that, at least for now, we can only speculate about.

Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe suggests both parties have other matters to handle first before settling the contract. This contract negotiation was set to begin over the first weekend of the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League, but as of yet, there is still no sign of a deal.
