Who'll rise to be AGR Player of the Year? 40 Section V girls basketball players to watch
The 2023-24 Section V girls basketball season is underway in bulk.
Now for the next three-plus months, teams from the Rochester region will lace up their sneakers and take the court to do battle, and ultimately determine who claims Section V titles and advances to the New York state tournament.
In 2022-23, Section V boasted 71 all-state selections including four players (Mariah Watkins, Webster Schroeder; Morgan Caraballo, Waterloo; Kylie Buckley, Livonia; Lauren Kingsley, Pavilion) who were first team all-state choices in their respective classifications.
While a significant portion of those all-state picks are lost to graduation, Section V returns plenty of talent in 2023-24.
