Where mock drafts have former Clemson football players going as 2024 NFL Draft approaches

CLEMSON — The 2024 NFL Draft is a week away, and Clemson football has 10 players eligible to be drafted.

Still, not every one of them will be drafted in the seven-round cycle. Some may go as high as the first round; others may go undrafted and sign free-agent contracts with NFL teams or other professional leagues.

Here's a breakdown of where the latest mock drafts have many of the players getting selected:

CB Nate Wiggins

Wiggins is Clemson's top prospect, with three interceptions, two forced fumbles, 22 pass deflections and 58 tackles as the two-year starter in 23 games. At the NFL scouting combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds, fastest among the cornerbacks.

DT Ruke Orhorhoro

Orhorhoro has risen in mock drafts after his impressive NFL combine. He accumulated 25.5 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and nine pass deflections in his Tigers career and has the versatility to play defensive tackle and end for teams.

LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

Trotter led Clemson in tackles with 177, including 28.5 for loss (12 sacks), and had 14 pass breakups and four interceptions during his two seasons as a starter. He is the son of Jeremiah Trotter, who played 11 seasons in the NFL.

RB Will Shipley

Shipley cracked the top 10 in school history in touchdowns (33), 100-yard rushing games (10) and all-purpose yards (4,253) in only three seasons at Clemson. He ran 4.39 seconds in the 40 at Clemson’s pro day, which would have ranked him third among backs at the combine.

DT Tyler Davis

Davis spent five seasons with the Tigers, becoming their first defensive player to be a four-time All-ACC selection. He recorded 144 tackles (29.5 for loss), 16 sacks and three pass deflections in 56 games. At the NFL scouting combine, the 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive tackle tied for second among defensive tackles in the bench press with 29 reps.

DE Xavier Thomas

Thomas played for the Tigers for six seasons, logging 121 tackles (34 for loss, including 17.5 sacks) and seven pass deflections. After he ran 4.62 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, he ran 4.56 at Clemson's pro day, which would have ranked third among defensive ends at the combine.

CB Sheridan Jones

Jones had 91 tackles, eight pass breakups and three interceptions in 56 games (28 starts) in five seasons at Clemson. He has the prototypical size (6-0, 190 pounds) for an outsider cornerback and has a physical style of play that shows in run support.
