Here’s where Joe Burrow’s Bengals stand in Week 1 power rankings

The Cincinnati Bengals were a consistent team at the bottom of power rankings last season.

That’s changing quickly.

After the arrival of Joe Burrow and the team spending some massive money in free agency, early 2020 power rankings seem to see some of the potential in the new-look Bengals.

One set of rankings already feature the Bengals on a rise going into Week 1, courtesy of USA Today’s Nate Davis:

26. Bengals (26): Did you know Joe Mixon is one of three backs (Ezekiel Elliott, Chris Carson) to rush for at least 1,100 yards each of the past two years? And probably reasonable to expect more in 2020.

Mixon, on a new deal and all, figures to be the centerpiece of the Cincinnati attack early and often. First up is a Week 1 showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers, a team also breaking in a new quarterback after a summer with no preseason games.

Thanks to a home game in Week 1 and a retooled roster, the Bengals have a chance to keep climbing the power rankings early if they can overcome a beatable opponent.
