Where Clemson baseball stands in latest NCAA tournament bracket predictions in final week

CLEMSON — Clemson baseball suffered three straight losses for the second time this season after Wake Forest swept the team this past weekend.

The series sweep caused the No. 7 Tigers (37-13, 17-10 ACC) to fall in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll and lose the overall lead in the conference. Still, they have won seven of their nine conference series and lead the ACC's Atlantic Division by 2.5 games.

Clemson is featured in the latest field of 64 projections by Baseball America and D1Baseball and is on track to host an NCAA regional. The Tigers aim to make the super regionals and College World Series for the first time since 2010. Selection Monday, where the full field of 64 will be announced, is May 27 at noon ET.

Here's a look at where the Tigers sit in the postseason projections ahead of their final regular-season home series against Boston College:

Baseball America's projection for Clemson

Baseball America projects Clemson as a No. 6 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, hosting a regional as a No. 1 seed. It is a three-seed drop from last week's projection.

No. 2 seed San Diego, No. 3 seed James Madison and No. 4 seed Austin Peay would be part of the Clemson Regional.

D1Baseball's projection for Clemson

D1Baseball dropped Clemson to a No. 6 overall seed, too, after having it as No. 4 overall last week. Arkansas and North Carolina jumped ahead of the Tigers, but they would still host a regional as a No. 1 seed.

The Tigers' regional would include No. 2 seed South Carolina, No. 3 seed College of Charleston and No. 4 seed Wright State.
