Here’s where CBS Sports has Florida playing its bowl game after Week 6

Florida football finally scored its first win in Southeastern Conference play — both for the 2022 campaign as well as under new head coach Billy Napier — in its homecoming game against the Missouri Tigers last Saturday. Having come up short against the Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers prior, the Orange and Blue finally got things going against one of its more recently-added rivals.

The win did not come as a huge surprise to the media at large, given that the Gators came into the game with a double-digit spread against a team that also was winless in SEC competition. Consequently, Florida did not see much movement in either of the major polls — from which they were excluded from both top 25 rankings — as well as in the overall bowl projections.

Among those is CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm, who released his latest outlook for the college football postseason after Week 6 of play. In it, he held firm with his previous projection for the Gators, once again pitting them against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 30 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Florida is still in control of its destiny and can climb up the bowl game outlook with a win over the LSU Tigers this coming Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with ESPN providing television coverage and the Gators Radio Network covering the airwaves.
