Where Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney could go in NBA Draft 2023, per mock drafts

Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats has a good chance to have two players drafted for the second time in three years on Thursday when the 2023 NBA Draft is held.

Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney, both freshmen, are expected to hear their names called at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

If Miller and Clowney are selected before the two rounds are over, that will give Oats six draft picks over his four seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Other players drafted during his tenure include JD Davison (2022), Joshua Primo (2021), Herb Jones (2021) and Kira Lewis Jr. (2020).

Miller has a chance to be the first top five overall pick for Oats and the first Alabama player to go in the top five since Antonio McDyess in 1995.

There's a small chance Charles Bediako hears his name called, too, but Miller and Clowney are much more likely.

Here's a look at where Miller and Clowney are projected to be selected ahead of the NBA Draft, according to mock drafts from ESPN, CBS, Yahoo! and the LA Times.

Alabama basketball F Brandon Miller

Mock draft high: No. 2 overall (Round 1) to Charlotte Hornets

Mock draft low: No. 5 overall (Round 1) to Detroit Pistons

The buzz: Mock drafts seem to be in consensus that Victor Wembanyama will be the first overall pick, but who gets picked at No. 2 is to be determined. It's possible Scoot Henderson goes at No. 2 instead of Miller, then the Alabama forward could go at No. 3 to the Portland Trailblazers. That was also a popular mock draft pick. Chances seem to be small Miller goes outside the top five, but whether he can join Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, whom the Carolina Panthers selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, in Charlotte remains to be seen.

Alabama basketball F Noah Clowney

Mock draft high: No. 15 overall (first round) to the Atlanta Hawks

Mock draft low: Out of the first round

The buzz: There have been varying opinions in various mock drafts for where Clowney could go. Most see the 18-year-old as a first-round pick, but Matt Norlander of CBS didn't include him in his first round mock draft Monday. However, Norlander's co-worker David Cobb projected Clowney to the Warriors at No. 19. Others have Clowney at No. 20 to Houston, No. 23 to Portland and No. 27 to Charlotte.

Alabama basketball C Charles Bediako

Mock draft high: No. 50 overall (second round) to the Oklahoma City Thunder

Mock draft low: Undrafted

The buzz: The Ringer thinks Bediako would be a good fit with former Gonzaga big man Chet Holmgren. Otherwise, Bediako isn't included in most mock drafts.
