Where each Big 12 team lands in CBS Sports’ updated preseason college football rankings

With fall camp kicking off for many college football teams around the country this week, national media websites are releasing their preseason rankings ahead of the 2022 season.

While there is renewed hope for Texas this season after an underwhelming 5-7 campaign in 2021, the Longhorns have been all over the place in the rankings recently.

ESPN’s updated FPI has Texas as high as No. 7 and 247Sports’ projected preseason AP Poll saw the Longhorns at No. 15. CBS Sports recently updated their preseason rankings, and Texas landed at a more realistic No. 30 spot.

Steve Sarkisian’s roster certainly has the talent to compete for a Big 12 title this season, but must win some games first before the national media completely buys into the hype.

Oklahoma, Baylor and Oklahoma State are still commonly placed ahead of Texas in the preseason rankings. Here’s a look at where each Big 12 team lands in CBS Sports’ preseason rankings.
