Kenny Farrow has been tabbed as coach of the Westerville North girls wrestling program after boys coach David Grant led the Warriors last season, which was the sport's first under the OHSAA.

A 1990 North graduate, Farrow has been the wrestling coach at Blendon Middle School since the 2011-12 season. He said he also will remain in that position.

Farrow coached his daughter, Isadora, at Blendon and will coach the sophomore again at North. He has also been a coach with the Westerville United Youth Wrestling Program.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity and looking forward to a good season where we can hopefully bring more females to the sport, hopefully advance girls that we have and look forward to a positive, rewarding season,” Farrow said.

Melania Szawranskyj, a 2023 graduate, led the Warriors last season, winning a regional title and finishing third at state at 130 pounds.

Grant helped organize the girls program four years ago. Farrow and Grant were wrestling teammates at North.

“Coach Farrow has a great rapport with the young people involved in our wrestling program,” athletic director Wes Elifritz said. “He’s had extensive experience in our middle school and high school programs and comes highly recommended by our current coaching staff. ... We are extremely excited to see how our (girls) program grows under Kenny's leadership.”
