West Ottawa boys golf claims share of first-ever OK Red Conference title
The West Ottawa boys golf team claimed a share of the OK Red Conference championship for the first time.
The Panthers finished second at the conference tournament, and coupled with the regular-season results, earned a share of the conference title.
"The guys are very happy to not only win a share of the OK Red Conference championship, but also get to place a banner in the gym because this is the first ever boys golf conference championship in West Ottawa history," West Ottawa coach Tarry Cutter said.
The Panthers shot a 327 at the conference tournament at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club on Tuesday, just one shot behind Rockford.
Sophomore Will Nagelvoort shot a career-low 4-over-76 to lead the Panthers, finishing third overall.
Senior Carson Witvoet shot an 81, senior Will Niziolek shot an 82 and junior Landon Meyer shot an 88, also a career low.
Nagelvoort, Witvoet and Niziolek earned all-conference honors.
