'Wemby Day' has arrived! Spurs fans react to projected No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama

Jose Trevino might be the starting catcher for the New York Yankees, but the Corpus Christi native is also a die-hard San Antonio Spurs fan.

The Yankees took to Twitter on Tuesday to show off a picture of Trevino and Victor Wembanyama, who is expected to be the Spurs' No. 1 overall pick during Thursday's NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The 7-foot-2 French prodigy Wembanyama arrived in New York on Tuesday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Yankees' game against the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium.

This is the third time the Spurs have had the No. 1 pick in the draft and first since 1997 when San Antonio selected Tim Duncan from Wake Forest University — 10 years after selecting David Robinson (Navy) as the top pick in 1987.

Here's how Spurs and NBA fans are reacting to what some have called "Wemby Day" ahead of Wembanyama's arrival for the Draft, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on ESPN and ABC.
