Seven area high school teams are rated this week in the South Dakota Prep Media football poll.
Hitchcock-Tulare (1-0) is No. 1 in Class 9B, Warner (1-0) No. 2 in Class 9A, De Smet (1-0) No. 2 in Class 9B, Sioux Valley (1-0) No. 3 in Class 11B, Hamlin (1-0) No. 4 in Class 9AA, Faulkton Area (1-0) No. 4 in Class 9B and Aberdeen Central (0-0) No. 5 in Class 11AA.
Watertown (0-0, 11AA), Deuel (1-0, 11B), Elkton-Lake Benton (1-0, 9AA), Castlewood (0-1, 9A) and Herreid-Selby Area (0-1, 9B) each also received votes.

Class B powerhouses Warner and Northwestern are rated No. 1 and No. 3 in Class B, respectively, in the South Dakota Media preseason volleyball poll.
Elkton-Lake Benton is No. 4 in Class A. Watertown (Class AA), Castlewood (Class B) and Faulkton Area (Class B) also received votes this week.
